Well hello again! Still not working towards a grand conclusion, just another page of a character who flailed in my mind until I imprisoned him on paper. It took me so long to finish this one because I was horribly dissatisfied with his facial structure and anatomy - he is supposed to look like one of those greek woman statues. Very androgynous and beautiful in a "classical era" sort of way, with bow-shaped lips, almond eyes and a very straight nose. He looks neither gorgeaus nor androgynous but I think I've gotten him to seem greek enough.

I imagine angels of the Verdictverse as having taboos regarding scars and physical deformities. On one hand they show one's experience, bravery, luck in battle. On the other hand they go against the angel-culture's desire to appear divine and above such mortal matters as injuries. Albeit angels have healers their powers don't rise to the point of reattaching limbs. It is unknown to me whether higher ranking healer-angels, such as Raphael, manage such feats, but even if they do I don't think they'd care enough to patch together common warriors on a regular basis. Thus I imagine Dardariel as wearing a sort of modified gauntlet not to pull attention on his scars. The empty fingers of the gauntlet are connected to his middle finger and can thus be moved, giving the impression of an intact hand on casual scrutiny. He's lucky it was his spell-hand that got mauled not the sword-hand.

I'm not good at designing armor, not even with references and tutorials. I imagine common angelic armor as having surprisingly few adornments - ceremonial garb is mostly reserved for major battles and missions to Earth. The armor is mainly inspired by roman designs and, to a lesser extent, also of those of assyrian and other ancient civilizations. As for materials it uses silk, leather detailing and a metal called somnianite which possesses a dreamlike lightness. The weapons are made of heavy, sturdy, earthly steel however, the better to cut hellspawn with. You can fly in this garb, albeit with some difficulty.
