Blind panic

The noise came startlingly sudden and loud as I was exploring, followed closely by the approaching pitter-patter of paws on the ground. In fear I forgot for a moment which way home was, instead seeking protection from the fence which I had been following. I heaved myself up to the top of the post in seconds, briefly feeling a nose nussle against my dangling ankles. The high-pitched shrieks of excitements continued non-stop and I joined the noise, calling out for my mother, as any child would. I started crying, even as dad took me inside in his arms and kept going as I was explained that the lady next-door kept a desert fox for a pet. Apparently I had gone through the first few years of my life without knowing what a desert fox was. Imagination, however, painted the creature into my childhood nightmare.

It's one of my OC's - a blind healer-character called Nimue - as a child. I drew quite a few pages of her into my notebook back in 2014 and am only now feeling sufficiently motivated to color some of these.
In related news excited fennecs can manage some really ear-splicing noises when they put their mind to it.

In other related news I'm gonna need to learn to give my things proper titles again. Seems to be a lost art for me.
